Adsense CTR may vary in time to time

CTR increases on weekends, even though visitors are less than during the week. The number of page views per visitor also increases, so these are people who’re seriously browsing with a bit more time on their hands.
# Many blogs report higher CTR on weekends (but lower impressions). It also those holidays can create large variations in adsense CTR. These variations can vary from blog to blog considerably.
# Sometimes return visitors only see what's new or what's changed. Move your ads from time to time, especially if you notice your CTR dropping. More often than not, you'll see an increase again as those same return visitors notice something in a different place and actually start to click through the same ads they didn't "see" last week.
# Traditionally there are many areas that have low CTR such as blogs about blogging, humor (humour) sites etc.
# blogs will have low CTR because we write what we want to write, unless you are discipline enough to write every post in a niche topic which will eventually increase the Adsense CTR.

High CTR if no others to ‘click: # Just thinks… a visitor is about to leave, and has one of two choices:
(a) Visit another page on the site, or
(b) Click on a high "paying" Google Adsense ads, prior to leaving the site
If your page has no outbound links except your Adsense ads - the chances are increased that those will be the links that people click on.
So that when his readers finish reading his content they either close the browser, hit ‘back’ or click an ad. His CTR was higher on these pages than on others. Decluttering your blog can increase Adsense CTR.

Google Search Box: Include Google Search Box in your website. Though it will not drastically increase your CTR, it's still worth to be used. Around 3% of my monthly income comes from Google Search Box.

Use Channels And Experiment: Experiment and experiment a lot. Experiment by changing the colors, background of advertisements. When trying any new method of using AdSense or new placements, be sure to monitor and track the results. By documenting your results, you have to find out what works best for your site, not others. Till you are satisfied with the tweaks you have done to achieve the highest CTR. Track your page performance by making channels of ads in your AdSense Control Panel. Keep experimenting till you are satisfied with your CTR. You'll be known what makes the highest Adsense CTR.
